Neighborhood child

On my rounds yesterday I came across this little boy who was crying.  His mother told me that he was playing near the cooking pot and hot oil fell on him.  The wound looks terrible (as you can see) and the poor kid is in a lot of pain.  Asked Linda to bring him to a doctor friend of ours.  We can at least get him some pain meds.  Will update you later on his condition.

My heart aches for this little guy. Please keep us posted. Prayers that he is relieved of some of his pain, and that love is poured onto him.

I am praying for him. Looks like burns travels up to his left shoulder blade area. Dehydration, infection are worrisome. Burn unit or the like? Please keep us posted.

There's no burn unit here and I'm not aware of any in country. Roberto is now at the General Hospital and we've gotten him the meds he needs. He has an infection but the doc says he'll be all right.

Infection is definitely a concern as that is a serious burn. Please keep us posted.

Thanks for the update, Father Marc. My 2 year old prayed for him last night too. Children shouldn't have to endure such pain.

How very sad. Thank God you came across him. That is a severe burn.
